Lead Surgery Technician
As a rare Southwest Florida native, David began his career with Angel Animal Hospital in the Fall of 2008 caring for boarding pets and assisting throughout the hospital at the age of 16. Upon finishing high school, he was awarded a Certification in Veterinary Assisting and a Certification in Phlebotomy. He then graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University in 2016 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology. In a decision to elevate his career in veterinary medicine and animal husbandry he attended St. Petersburg College pursuant of an Associates Degree in Veterinary Technology. David’s interests include laboratory analysis and sample collection, customer service, and the attention of cats! Outside of work David likes to remain active and fit, SCUBA dive, tend to his home plant jungle, experience wildlife and the outdoors and, of course, love and care for his two white siamese/ tabby mixes- Buffy and Bagheera.
Kahlan (Kay-lin) was born and raised in Naples, FL where she was raised to care for animals. She joined our team in October of 2017 and has loved every moment. Before working here she actually brought her late cat, Zedd, in and knew that she wanted to join us. At the moment she is getting her AA at Florida Southwestern and plans to transfer to St Petersberg to peruse a career as a veterinary surgeon. When she isn't at work or school she spends time with her son, Nathan, and two chubby cats Denna and Cara.
Jenna is a native of Southwest Florida. Her love for caring for animals stemmed from always having animals growing up, from Ferrets to Dogs, her family always had animals in their care. In 2009, after feeling a change of scenery she moved to Asheville, NC where she attended Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College and became a Certified Veterinary Technician. After getting married and having their first child Jenna and her husband decided to move back to Naples to be closer to family and the sunshine. She feels very lucky to be a member of the Angel Animal Hospital staff. In her free time she enjoys being on or near the water, shopping, baking cupcakes, loving on her dogs and spending time with her family.
Jenna Visconti, CVT
Senior Surgery Technician
Jessica started working as a receptionist at Angel in December of 2016. She is currently working toward a degree in Nursing at Florida Southwestern State College. In her time outside of work, she enjoys shelling on Sanibel Island and spending time with her boyfriend and family, and their dog Finn.
Tara joined the team in November of 2013. She is originally from South of Pittsburgh, PA where she received her Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Waynesburg College. She has lived in Fort Myers, Florida since 2011 and has always had a love for animals. She has never met a stray she didn’t like. She currently owns a cat named Snickers and a dog named Cody. When she is not at the hospital, she spends time with her daughter, Haley, who is passionate about school, reading, softball and animals. Tara volunteers as a manager/coach for San Carlos Little League Softball, which she loves to do. Tara is grateful to be a team member at Angel Animal Hospital and enjoys her days helping her patients live happy and healthy lives.
Dr. Swartz was born in Ashland, Ohio, and went to The Ohio State University for both his undergraduate and veterinary degrees, graduating in 1966. He practiced in Ohio for 2 years before starting Old Dominion Animal Hospital in McLean, VA, where he practice 23 years before selling to his partner. He founded Clocktower Animal Hospital in Herndon, VA, in 1991. Dr. Swartz has been the American Animal Hospital Association [AAHA] Public Relations Chairman and also wrote a monthly column, Ask The Vet, for Better Homes and Gardens magazine for several years. He also enjoyed media work with AOL-Time Warner, Kids On Line [KOL] radio and webcast live broadcast format for children ages 6 to 14 years old. He has served on the Board of Directors for The Hope Center for Advanced Veterinary and Specialty Care in Vienna, VA, and served as chairman, Professional Veterinary Products, Ltd., in Omaha, NE, and the Claude Moore Colonial Farm at Turkey Run in McLean, VA, the only privately funded national park. He is currently President of the Board at Naples Therapeutic Riding Center in Naples providing equine therapy for children and adults with special needs. “I love being a part of the Angel Animal Hospital team and being able to continue to help pets and their owners part-time in my retirement. “
Haylee joined our team in March of 2018. Before starting here she spent 8 years specializing in customer service and 1 year as a technicians assistant. Haylee is very passionate about helping to make our furry friends lives better because she truly believes that they make our lives better. She has lived in Naples, FL her whole life apart from two years she spent in Tallahassee working on her undergraduate degree. She is currently a student at Florida Gulf Coast University in pursuit of her bachelors degree in Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship with a minor in Ethics. She spends her free time outside of work with her family, friends, and fur babies Angel and Rilee.
"Challenging the Status Quo"
Dr. Ron Altman was born in Montreal, Canada and attended the Ontario Veterinary College where he received his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine in 1999. After graduation, he moved to New York where he practiced emergency medicine for 3 years in the Capital District area. From there he relocated to Atlanta, GA where he met his wife, Elise and their son Jordan was born. After practicing for several years in Atlanta he moved to Evergreen, Colorado where he owned and operated a veterinary hospital for 8 years. After enjoying the beautiful scenery of Colorado and fly fishing some of the country's most beautiful rivers, Dr. Altman moved to Naples, where his wife grew up and had always hoped to return. While in Naples, Dr. Altman completed one year of a dental residency program before returning to private practice and joining the team at Angel Animal Hospital and Boarding. His professional interests include dentistry, soft tissue surgery and internal medicine.
In his spare time, Dr. Altman enjoys spending time with his family, including his 2 dogs and 2 cats, fishing the backwaters of southwest Florida and enjoying the beautiful beach sunsets Naples has to offer.
Jennifer joined our team in January of 2018. She was born and raised here in Naples, FL. She obtained her certification as a veterinary assistant at Lorenzo Walker Technical High school/college. Growing up her grandparents had all kinds of animals that she would help them care for. This is where her love for working and caring for animals came from. She especially has a soft spot for stray animals. She would love to be able to care for and re-home them all. In her free time Jennifer enjoys going to the beach, the outdoors, watching movies, spending time with family/friends and her fur baby Max, who is a 2 year old Rottweiler.
Pammy was born and raised in Ft. Myers, Florida. Pammy attended the veterinary assisting program at South Fort Myers High School and later moved to Orlando and volunteered at a pet boarding/hospital. Pammy has moved back to the area with her husband and two sons to spend more time with family and take advantage of our beautiful beaches. Pammy love all animals, but is particularly partial to German Shepards.
Dr. Meghan Finley grew up in the suburbs of Chicago, but has also lived in Florida, the island of St. Kitts, and Texas. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University where she obtained her Chemistry degree with minors in Biology and Music while working as a receptionist/assistant at Angel Animal Hospital and Boarding. Dr. Finley received her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and completed her clinical year at Texas A&M University. Her professional interests include radiology, ophthalmology, neurology, integrative medicine, and soft tissue surgery. In her free time, Dr. Finley enjoys photography, traveling, reading, and spending time with her friends, family, and pets (2 golden retrievers and her island dog).
Caroline is originally from New Jersey but has lived in Florida for 9 years and loves it here. She graduated from FGCU in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She loved FGCU so much and I hopes to continue her education by becoming a veterinarian. Her husband and her live in Fort Myers with there 2 beautiful mutts and a bunny. While she is newer to Angel Animal Hospital and started here in February 2018, it is a very special place for her and already feels like family.
Leandra was born and raised in beautiful Naples, Florida. She has had a passion for learning about and caring for various animal species since she was a little girl. She has experience caring for many different pets, including several large species of reptiles. Leandra has volunteered with many different animal rescues, doing everything she was able, from fostering to transport. In her spare time, you can find her on a hiking trail, in her garden, or on a paintball field. Leandra works as a kennel technician and loves playing with and loving on all of the pets that visit us at Angel Animal Hospital and Boarding.
Erika Kuester, CVT
Crystal has been in this field for over 8 years and joined Angel in 2017. She moved from long island NY to help take care of her grandparents in Cape Coral. She also rescued/adopted Clarence in December of 2016. She is passionate about veterinary dentistry.
Dr. Pegah Gillette is a native of Bloomfield Hills Michigan and has always had a love for animals. At the age of 15 she started working as a kennel assistant at a veterinary hospital. She worked her way up to a veterinary assistant position and eventually a veterinary technician position. She attended the University of Michigan and Michigan State University where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology and a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine. During her summer breaks she continued working as a veterinary technician. After graduating from veterinary school in 2005 she moved to southwest Florida with her husband and their dog. She worked for a small animal practice for 3 years before founding Angel Animal Hospital in 2008 with her husband. She has a special interest in preventative medicine, internal medicine, surgery, and dentistry. She enjoys working with a variety of rescue organizations and helping enhance the human animal bond of her clientele. In her spare time she enjoys boating and spending time with her family, friends, and pets (now 2 dogs and a cat).
Born and raised in Paterson, NJ, Theresa moved to Florida 20 years ago. Theresa has been a veterinary technician for 14 years. She has worked in veterinary orthopedics, cardiology, and internal medicine practices, and has been working at Angel since 2011. Here at the office, Theresa is always the one to make us smile and laugh. Theresa recently graduated from Bonita Springs School of Massage and Cosmetology where she received certification to become a licensed Esthetician. Theresa has a dog named Geddy Lee, and she also has a parakeet. In her free time, she loves spending time with her husband Tom and her son Stephen.
Ashley joined the Angel team in the Summer of 2015. She was born in California, has lived in both Arizona and New Hampshire for short periods of time. Ashley decided to leave the cold winters behind and has lived in Naples the last 15 years. Ashley has had a love for animals ever since she was very young. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family, friends, and fur baby Nala.
Margaret came to us in the fall of 2016. Originally from Long Island, New York where she owned a boarding kennel for 10 years. After moving to Florida she knew her heart has always been with the 4 legged clients and of course their owners. She loves the interaction working the reception area at AAH. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her family & friends near and far, Lola and Snotz her bulldogs, traveling, music festivals & the beautiful outdoors.
Dr. Amber Weinke was born and raised in sunny Southern California where she earned her Bachelors degree in Biological Science from Chapman University. She taught marine education for several years on Catalina Island but always knew her passion was with animals. She received her DVM from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine and did her clinical year at Louisiana State University. She moved to Florida and started working at Angel in July of 2018 and her strong medical interests include surgery, rehabilitation and preventative care. The beaches, year long summers and gorgeous sunsets of SW Florida drew her here along with her Caribbean adopted furry friends, Kyland and Keaton and southern comfort rescue, Kajun. On days off you can find her hanging at the beach, hiking or couch surfing with a good movie.
